Love is a four legged word

Tyson celebrated his second birthday on January 1st! 2 years old 165 pounds and could not sit still waiting for his bologna scrambled egg mixture of birthday breakfast to cool down. He gets so excited and his whole giant dog body wiggles and shakes in excitement every time he walks in the room.

Anyone else feel like their dog is teaching them to be a better person?

He is teaching me how to love unconditionally

One thing I am trying to instill in my relationships with my significant other, my family and my friends is to be excited when they walk in the room because I am genuinely so excited to see them no matter what I am going through, or what they are going through. Every time I walk in the door Tyson is so excited whether I am gone for 8 hours or 8 minutes, puts a smile on my face every time. He has seen me at my best and at my worst and consistently shows me unconditional love.

He teaches me to live each day with excitement

This dog is so excited to go outside at 4:30am, when Sunday hits and we have no where to be and no reason to get up, He walks straight over to my side of the bed and drops his very tall head right on the mattress with a small nudge because he wants to go! He gets excited about the small things, morning cuddles with me, hi favorite bone filled with peanut butter, and the god awful chicken squeaky toy that he loves to pounce on at 5am. getting excited about the little things everyday keeps me motivated through my daily schedule, work and my future goals.

He is teaching me to put myself out there

anyone who works with me knows I talk about Tyson at least 5 times a day, and a lot of the times talking about him has opened up a lot of conversation with customers and clients walking in the door which has a lot of the time lead to a bigger sale or a lead. I know more about my customers dogs than I know about them and I love it! The number one thing I have learned and taught in sales is that people love talking about themselves it shows excitement and it brings walls down. Dogs show so much love and loyalty and I am striving to consistently show that in my relationships.

Showing me the importance of boundaries

Dogs do so well when they have a structure and daily routine and I have learned that as well for myself. He is aware of his rules (even if he does not always follow them) Boundaries set trust and lead to healthy relationship connections. That, and I have a minor heart attack every time he decides to wander off beyond his boundaries and come back home when HE is ready.

Trusting my Intuition

Dogs are lead by their instinct, just yesterday Tyson ran after an entire pack of deer and stopped when he realized they were not going to play with him, I saw him turn around drop his head and run right back to me. Sometimes I get so excited about an idea or the potential of what something can be that I run off to it instead of listening to my gut and trusting my own intuition.

Expressing my love everyday

Every day comes with its own set of stress and challenges and I believe that it pushes showing love aside, too tired, too upset, to stressed out. Tyson loves on us every day all day, literally has to sit right on top of me thinking he is this little lap dog. He expresses his love everyday, And as soon as I shed a tear he is standing their with that giant paw in the air trying to hold my hand and those droopy ears that put a smile back on my face.

I love you buddy, See you when I get home!
