Unexpected Snow Day

The last couple of days I have been in a real funk! Depressed, gloomy, emotional, and just down. Do you know what type of mood I mean? the one where after a weird day at work you get in your car and just break down? This lasted 3 days...
My mom walked into my room this morning excited ,she used her high pitch excited mom voice and said "Paytee, did you see the snow?!" It reminded me of when we were stationed in Japan and every year we were there it would snow and she would get my brother and I up (this was pre Jestin - our youngest brother) to play. We would run around until our fingers were numb and our faces were red. and then come in and drink hot coco and watch a movie and we would pass out.
I don't know if that set the tone or if I was just excited but I had a two cup cappuccino attitude, I was dancing around and excited to make us breakfast, singing little do dads and just spunky.
My brother and I had a snow day from work so we put on our scarfs and boots and out the door in the snow we went, It started with a simple snow ball fight and some how that turned into digging out the Polaris and drifting around the property. I helped shovel the driveway and the walkway (because that's a real chore on the East Coast ha ha)
I have not pulled out my camera in almost a month and maybe that ads to my funk. I was all around the front yard and the trail behind our property, For anyone who has played the, switch the lens without getting snow in your camera game, I would love your tips and tricks! I am fascinated with the way the snow falls on the trees and I was covered in snow from head to toe trying to get some perfect shots. My creative energy was at an all time high today.

My dad and my youngest brother got home at the same time and we spent an entirety of 5 minutes just hanging out before coming up with a ghetto-rigged snowboarding idea that involves the quad, my snowboard and an inner-tube that we use when we go out on the boat. Now, this snowboard of mine was a gift from my ex like 7 years ago... the bindings and boots were an added addition from my parents that same year and were used for the very first time today! the snow was not smooth enough from the previous drifting that had occurred hours beforehand but it was a great laugh to watch Jestin pulling me behind the quad trying to snowboard . This turned in to HOURS of pulling each-other on the inner-tube and laughing so hard our stomachs hurt. It has been a long time since I played in the snow with my brothers, And as we get older we find more dangerous ways to have fun but we didn't have any worries today, we played like kids and we didn't think about anything but fun. That's what I needed, I needed a day out of my own head. No emotion, all fun, no worries day . So now my creative energy is through the roof, I took some really neat pictures, my fingers are numb my face is red, I traded my coco for red wine, I am about to pop in a movie and pass out.
