Michael always says after a hard day at work..."If you even understood the things I did today" So at 10:45 last night when he was not ready to go to bed I took full advantage of the extra time I had with him, Without a breath I said " Hey, lets order a pizza and go pick up the new Resident Evil game" This man stood up so quick to get his shoes and the car keys I could barely keep up. None the less I was excited for this late night adventure, whether I wanted to play this video game or not. We stopped at Walmart and as we walk in at 11:02 the door greater tells us they are closed. WHAT? I thought Walmart was 24 hours, but that is a completely different topic for later. So as we walk out and I assume Michael is done and we are going home to go to bed, he says "where is another Walmart? I find another Walmart down the street that closes at midnight, I plug in my iphone and I ask him what he wants to listen to, I normally take over the music in our car but I was just so excited about this video game excursion! OK, So we get to this Walmart and we walk back to the video games and OF COURSE the only game they do not have is the new Resident Evil for PS4. As I am silently laughing to myself Michael is getting a "second opinion" because he did not trust the manager in the electronics section, Mind you it is now 11:35 at night and the loud speaker is announcing store closure in 25 minutes. All in all we give up on the game, we grab a pepperoni pizza and stand in the drinks aisle to long playing the, i don't care what ever you want to drink game. We proceed to checkout #8 and it is now 11:45. We are second in line and all of a sudden..."Can I get an available manager to checkout 8 for a system reboot." ARE YOU SERIOUS??????. I look over at Michael and watch every ounce of energy that he had left just vanish, he is absolutely over all of this. I know when to just give up so I said " babe lets just put everything back, go home and watch a show in bed until we fall asleep." We get in the car and we are on the way home as Michael is grunting about the manager in electronics he says No, we did not go out for over an hour for nothing lets get some ice cream. So we pull in to a McDonald's drive thru and as I am joking about the ice cream machine being broken, Michael is waiting for someone, anyone to take our order. We give them a couple of minutes and realize they are just closed, At this point honestly I am laughing so hard I was ready to call it a night. We come up on a Carl's Jr, Apparently Michael really wants some ice cream because he drives in to there drive-thru, We order a ROOT BEER, 2 Oreo shakes and beer cheddar bacon fries because they all of sudden sound good (please don't judge us we are both down almost 30 pounds together) OK, we get to the window and the lady takes our payment and proceeds to make our shakes. No joke... 10 minutes pass and we are sitting in our car listening to Bollywood music keeping ourselves entertained wondering how we ever enjoyed staying up this late right out of high school, we hear a loud drop! I am thinking she dropped a shake and now she has to start over and at this point forget the shake just give me the root beer. No, she dropped the whipped cream bottle!! and she picks it up, apologizes, rinses it off and USES IT! ugh.....whatever just give us the Carl's Floor scented shakes and lets leave. Finally the root beer is in my hands and I take a huge sip as we are driving away and it is Coke. All in all it was a great night and I fell straight to sleep. To me that was more of a date night than tonight trying so hard to understand the Xbox controller and keeping up with who I can and can not shoot. But last night and every night that Michael and I get to experience new things, encounter the good and bad of a night in its rawest form, while we people watch and dream of what could be and will be. That is date night, Get dressed, get in the car we are going out and we have no idea what is going to happen. I had enough adventure for one week, Tonight is "date night" we are putting on our PJ's throwing in a video game, having a glass of wine while we sit on our porch just talking. What are you going to do tonight?
Happy Date night!
